Sharon Peelor, LCPC

Sharon believes that the key to change is awareness and acceptance of ourselves. She helps her clients learn to accept all parts of themselves to help them work towards their unique goals. She teaches her clients about boundaries, self-acceptance, and how to live in alignment with their values.

Sharon believes that collaboration and trust between client and therapist help clients work towards healing. She sees people as wonderful, flawed, and doing the best they can, and because of this she is genuinely excited and supportive of each of her client’s unique journeys.

Sharon became a therapist later in life, after other careers as a teacher (of psychology and sociology), a mediator, and a career counselor. Her teaching and mediation experience led her to want to collaborate more closely with people who question their lives and want to make changes. These careers have helped her become the therapist she is today.

Sharon received her counseling degree from Sonoma State in 2002 and has been a therapist ever since. She has specialized experience with drug and alcohol abuse, teens, families, individuals, and couples. She has overcome her own depression and anxiety, so she feels she can work well with folks who are having those feelings. Sharon is enthusiastic about teaching mindfulness and other tools to help her clients manage their unique concerns.
